absense

each tick of the clock brings it closer

every mistake becomes inevitable

the time draws nearer

it lingers ahead in the future

it pounces on unsuspecting victims

it feeds on the innocent

the too young are put at risk

there is no mercy to be shown

no tears to be shed

everyone has to go at one point

some sooner then others

there is no point in fearing the things to come

go headstrong into life

and leave this earth with the ones you love

and one last smile

before you leave us

with absence.

Nice poem, I like the personfication (is that how you spell it?)
I didn't quite understand the last two lines, "before you leave us/with absence". But it sounds good. KEEP IT UP!!

I agree with Dotty about the last too lines. I've noticed you write a lot of poetry. I'll check sometime over the summer to see if you have written more.

I love the line, "It lingers ahead in the future".
Fabulous imagery. And what a concept.

the entire poem had amazing meaning and was extremly thoughtful. I really liked the solemn, somber notes.
